We often hear customer complaints "It was too difficult to convert over to do anything running various air conditioning systems." So we design this easy-to-use manifold gauge set. A 4 house system makes way more sense then a 3 house system, you can have all your equipment hooked up and ready to go. The extra port allows for pumping out the lines while being able to charge the same without changing the lines all around. In addition to connecting to a vacuum pump, the fourth black hose also enable connection to hi-/lo-sides, refrigerant tank and recovery unit for diagnostics, evacuation and charging without switching hoses.
